ORGANIZATION: A Local Tennessee High School

CHALLENGE: The school needed to track attendance during student test days directed by the school district and required by the state. They wanted an automated way to validate student identity, collect attendance data, and generate reports of all collected data to measure participation.

SOLUTION: Elliott’s local solutions representative recommended, EPIC Track, a very affordable event management solution used by many schools to perform routine and special event tracking. Elliott’s Project Management team provided software setup, installation, and user training of EPIC Track software to the school’s team. Users downloaded the EPIC Track App to each test monitor tablet.

Users downloaded the EPIC Track App to each test monitor tablet, logged into the EPIC Track app and were immediately able to begin tracking all required test events throughout the school.

Users simply use their tablets to scan the QR barcode on each student’s ID card to check students in as they entered and exited each test station. Every time a student is checked in and out of a test station the student’s identity and test participation is verified, scans are timestamped during check-in/out, and all data is recorded in real time.

RESULTS: The high school’s Principal and administrative team now have the ability to automate the validation of all student test participation across the school very easily, check event status in real-time, and easily generate reports to provide the school district collected data, after test day completion.

ORGANIZATION: Healthcare Pediatric Hospital

CHALLENGE: The hospital needed a single software platform to manage photo ID, access control, and visitor management. The hospital was using 3 different software systems and was not receiving proper support by the solution provider.

SOLUTION: Elliott Data Systems provided the BadgePass software suite for access control, photo identification and visitor management as a better solution.

RESULTS: The client stated that before Elliott Data Systems, they were managing 3 different software platforms for ID’s, badge door access, and visitor check-in. Over the years the system’s support was creating major inefficiencies along with having to manage 3 different software’s that was not all integrated, and not talking to each other.

When they implemented the Elliott Data Systems solution, they were able to have unified software for their Photo ID’s, Door Access, and Visitor programs all while receiving proper support. MUNICIPALITY: #MUN5

ORGANIZATION: Local City Municipality

CHALLENGE: The city had an access control system that didn’t accommodate the city’s growth and administrative needs. The city wanted to add access control to their parks and recreation center to be managed by the department’s

Director; however, their current access management software only provided blanketed administrator rights to all of the city’s buildings.

They needed the Parks & Recreation Director to have authorization to only manage their department building.

SOLUTION: An Elliott security solutions representative worked with the city to upgrade their current access control system to the Feenics Keep cloud non-proprietary software allowing them to continue using all pre-existing access control door locks and ID card readers across city buildings.

The city’s new access control solution gave authorization to the parks & recreation department’s director to manage the department individually, without giving the director management rights to the rest of the city’s access control program, while the City’s Administrator manages access to all other city department buildings.

RESULTS: The city’s new system provided a more scalable solution that allowed the city’s staff to manage all faucets of access control for the city as it continues to grow and new needs to manage access expand further to encompass additional buildings and interior spaces for greater security.

CHALLENGE: Needed to produce high quality photo IDs on access staff & student ID badges as quickly as possible and lamination for card durability. Also needed someone local for on-site service as needed.

RESULTS: The customer said with print speed, edge-to-edge printing, & durability all being paramount to our ID program, working with Elliott Data Systems was a true win-win solution. We print hundreds of ID’s a day and when there’s large lines, speed is crucial, and if something happens with the printers it’s great to have a local resource to troubleshoot and get my printers back up and running.

Because of our legacy swiping systems, card durability is an issue, and having our printers provide protection with the printer’s lamination is key as well. From the time we hit print, we produce a live badge in 38 seconds. Having 4 printers running also adds to our efficiency and really helps provide a world class badge process for our campus card users.

MANUFACTURING: #MAN2

ORGANIZATION: Local Tennessee Manufacturer

CHALLENGE: The company needed to issue secure access control credentials to their employees, add access-controlled locks to all exterior doors allowing them to remained locked at all times, and track employees at mustering checkpoint stations during an emergency evacuation.

The goal was to increase building security and eliminate vulnerabilities presented from hundreds of employees, vendors, and other visitors coming and going during operating hours.

Another concern for the manufacturer was accounting for all employees in the event of an emergency requiring an evacuation.

SOLUTION: The solution was integrated, installed, tested by Elliott’s technical team who also performed user and technical training to the manufacturer’s administrative and building maintenance team.

Once the access control locks and readers were installed on all exterior doors and gates and apps installed on user phones, authorized personnel were able to begin enrolling personnel, issuing IDs, building access control schedules, assigning access by department or role, and tracking employee attendance during an evacuation drill.

Each employee ID card displayed the company’s brand with their logo, card holder’s name, photo, and unique QR barcode that can be scanned by the EPIC Track app using designated users smartphones to check employees in at   checkpoints during an evacuation.

Employee IDs were printed on proximity RFID technology cards permitting IDs to double as a key to the building limiting access to preapproved personnel and only during operation hours. Access can be controlled by schedule, to certain doors, particular people, and maybe granted or blocked at any time for new or former employees.

RESULTS: Access to the company’s manufacturing warehouse and headquarters are now secure providing greater protection of people, assets and data through restricted access. Former employees can no longer access the parking lot or building due to the greater accountability and security by implementing using their new system.

MUNICIPALITY: #MUN3

ORGANIZATION: A Local Arkansas City Courthouse

CHALLENGE: This courthouse needed to control access to areas where digital data was accessed, official business was conducted, and documentation stored in areas including the administrative office, courtrooms, and judge’s office.

This courthouse wanted to ensure only authorized personnel had access to these protected areas and prevent access to courtrooms when not in session.

SOLUTION: Elliott’s security solutions representative designed an access control system that included the BadgePass software, giving authorized courthouse administrators the ability to assign access rights to staff, adjust access settings as needed, create access schedules by courtrooms, and identify who accesses doors.

BadgePass readers and access control locks were installed and tested by the Elliott Data Systems AC installation team to ensure secure access points were established at each exterior door and designated interior doors throughout the courthouse.

Their new access control system was managed and monitored by the Judge and Administrative team. Officers and other professional staff were assigned and issued access control proximity technology ID cards and immediately put into use.

RESULTS: Installation of this system immediately secured the courthouse administration office, judge’s office, and multiple courtrooms. With all vulnerable areas now protected, public visitors at the courthouse were no longer able to access all areas on the premises, staff no longer had to manually monitor and redirect visitors, and only authorized staff were able to access secure areas throughout the day providing greater protection of the courthouse data, people and assets residing in the building.

ORGANIZATION: Local Casino

CHALLENGE: A local Mississippi casino had outdated player card printers that had issues, printed slowly, and needed to be replaced.

SOLUTION: After evaluating multiple card printer options, the casino decided to upgrade to the very versatile BadgePass Halo ID card printer with Open Card, which is ideal for casinos wanting the ability to print player cards, VIP cards, room keys, and employee badges all from one type of printer.

RESULTS: The casino placed 13 Halo single-sided open card printers throughout the casino. Each had a magstripe encodered and open card format that allowed them to produce unique IDs using multiple preprinted card designs assigned to different applications within the casino.

Administrators manage the ID card printing program using an open card format to issue IDs to players, staff, and guests. The printers’ secure boot protects the system from malware or virus on boot-up and customer data is encrypted and not stored in the printer after printing is complete.
